Celebrating Avoca
April 1, 2003 - September 29, 2023
Avoca came to the rescue in 2003. She was only 7 weeks old and had cataracts and infections in her eyes. Throughout the years she had reoccurring infections and in December 2016 she had her left eye removed. She had a bold spirit and lived life on her on terms. She adjusted well and volunteers rode her in familiar surroundings. Since the surgery her right eye continued to have infections. Her balance was compromised and safety became a big concern. On September 29, she was laid to rest. She'll be pain free and able to run in green pastures over the Rainbow Bridge. Through it all she was a bright spot at the rescue. Bay State Equine Rescue was blessed to have Avoca for 20 years. Rest in peace our beautiful girl.
